I was the guy that talked to you at Mc Donalds and on the water. Never caught a fish on Larsons or Monument. Did manage a 9.2 lb by casting @ Snake Island.
Would you mind telling me where Hat is?

Dennis,
Hat is located at approximately N45_04_925 / W087_19_558. You can't miss it. It's taken over by commorants (sp?). It's a dead island with lots of rocks.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-24-01 AT 11:02AM (CST)[p]Thanks Juls !
What am I doing wrong???? I have two hot spots maps, one for Green Bay and one for Sturgeon Bay but neither one shows spots that are discussed on this list serve. What map do I need to get to see spots like Ephram, Door Reefs and Strawberry?
Fished Larson's Reef, Sister Island & Shoals, & Horseshoe Reef, Tues-Wed-Thurs. Not a walleye to be had.

The temp was 62* if I remember correctly. Don't quote me on that..I didn't have my glasses on..;-)
The map we were using was created by a company called Clarkson, I think. It shows ALL the islands and reefs. Very impressive book. I called Carl Grunwald, the fella that I was fishing with, and I'm waiting for a call back. When I find out the name of the book, I will let you know. I want one too!

It's a map/book put out by the Clarkson Map Co. located in Kaukauna, WI. Next time your on your way up there, take the first exit for Kaukauna, then take a right at the bottom of the off ramp. Carl said it was the first building on either the right or left...I can't remember exactly what he said. It's right there though. It's an excellent map as far as island and reef locations go. Very detailed. If your familiar with the map/books "Wisconsin Gazette", then you know what I'm talking about. The one put out by Clarkson is like that, but for waterways. Know what I mean?
His map was in his boat, and the boat is stored away from where he stays, so he couldn't get me the addy for Clarkson. If you call info. and tell them it's in Kaukauna, they can find the number for you.

Fished Horseshoe and Strawberry Islands on Friday and Saturday. Caught fish up to 7.5 pounds...70' to 130' back from board to crawler harness, no weight!! Lost several large fish on wide, outside board. Lots of sheeps to weed through, but the fish are in there. Large silver hammered blades caught most of the fish, fish .5-1.2 mph., 12'-35' deep. Look for pods of bait, or mark fish suspended.
Good Luck,
JB
