Just wondering if anyone out there has fished on lake pakwash and if so how the fishing was. This is my first trip to this lake and was wondering if anyone knew where i could get my hands on a detailed map of this lake. Any information that you could give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!!

We were at Pakwash Lake in 95 and it was fished out!! If you must stay there, fish the connected Bruce Lake. But I would suggest going a bit north to the Red Lake area... many fishing opportunities. For monster Northerns, try Faulkenham Lake north of Red Lake city. You need a canoe to access this lake but well worth the paddle. Good luck on your trip.

packwash remains excellent. i am on the run right now, however when i have time this week, i will be happy to share some "secrets", about the packwash bite. i saw some beautiful walleyes and have friends who have fished it for the past 10 years with increased success. very good lake! be in touch.

I personally have never spent any time on Pakwash, However a good friend from work has been going there for over 25 years, sometimes 2-3 times per year. He sure likes it, but it doesn't seem to me like his group catches the quantity / quality of fish that they should, especially if you consider they know every hump and bay in the lake. I know they have boated some huge northerns though.
I'll be watching this post, I've been interested in Pakwash for years and if the responses you get sound good I might just have to give it a shot.
nothing ventured, nothing gained..

We are taking this trip the third weekend in June. Last year I found it impossible to get everyone together for the same weekend. One guy couldnt go and the rest could---so i didnt go to pakwash with the big group and headed to Eagle Lake with the straggler. Out of the large group that went to pakwash only one had fished it before. They reported average to above average fishing--he called it an off year for pakwash. We on the other hand hit a nasty cold front snow/rain on eagle--we were told below average--we would of had enough walleye for lunch had we wanted them though. Were really disappointed in the size of the walleyes though--good eaters--not many benders though. Anyway if you could pass along any information on Pakwash it would be greatly appreciated. What part of MN are you from. N.E. Minneapolis here.
