OK Guys....I'm thouroughly confused. I Have a fishing map that shows stocker island being due north of bay 41 boat launch and south of birches landing boat launch just about halfway in between the two on the west side of the lake due west of the snodgrass boat launch. We were out from 3:30 AM until almost 9:30 am and saw no one else trolling in the area. The NE shoreline of the Island I'm Assuming is stockers (according to this map I'm looking at) is very shallow slowly drops to about 14 ft then goes to 16' and then drops off from 16' to about 21' to 23 in a heartbeat, literaly almost the width of the boat will put you over the ledge in places. I am sure now that this is not the stockers that everyone else is refering to. The only other islands I see on the south end are the one up by the causeway right by the Ohio Beach and the island directly off bay 41 boat launch by the pymatuning yacht club. I would greatly appreciate
knowing if anyone else was trolling there during those times because if that was the case I'm in the wrong place. Thanks for the heads up!
Good Fishing Everyone!

Swamprat,
I must join you in saying that I am confused too. This is the first year that I have fished the lake. We have a map from Fishing Hot spots which shows Stockers island as the large island due est of Bay 41 in the Southwest corner of the lake. This is where we were Saturday morning and where we have been catching some fish. It sounds like others are referring to the medium sized island a ways north of the large island as Stockers. Earlier in the summer (July & August) we fished in that area and actually did better (more and bigger fish) We decided to try further south by the bigger island because people kept referring to Stockers and that's where our map said it was.
Either way, we have been fishing both areas this summer in 13 to 16 ft. of water and have had decent success. Let me know if you get any further clarification on Stockers actual location. Thanks.

Hey swamprat, I believe LCL is referring to the rock shelf that runs from snodgrass launch to the causeway on the eastern shoreline of the lake not the shoreline of the island itself. According to my map the rock shelf is 250ft from the eastern shoreline. To be more specific according to my map its 15ft from snodgrass launch to just north of westford rd. however it may be 16ft now as LCL has claimed. This specific area would put it in the area I believe he is referring to. If I need to be corrected Im all "walleyes". Hope this helps. Perry.
