Thanks Perry for the info on the best months for Walleye on Pymatuning, but i've been out there in April & May. I was more interested in the fall bite. Was planning on making a trip out sometime soon, either Ohio or Penna. side for a week long camping trip, but I have no idea when the best times in the fall are. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Bull,
The best time is late September through November. Fish points and channel edges on the south end of the lake 10-17 ft. Use gold or silver Vib-E's (bladebaits) or jigs/minnows. Gotta be on the edge to catch fish. Good Luck. MURFA

Someone told me a long time ago that a week or was it 2 weeks after the 1st frost you can catch big walleye by the dam that are feeding on huge schools of shad. Never tried it myself, maybe someone can elaberate on this pattern.

Perry,
It depends on what you call big walleye. The fish average 17-22 inches with an occasional hawg (4 lbs.+). For inland waters those are nice 'eyes. That sounds about right on the timing though. MURFA
i can,t wait to hit pymy this fall the vertical jigging and bladebaiting should really produce, headin that way tomorrow to do some trooling, if the bites not on we,ll switch to musky fishin, but what the #####!!!!! anyways i hope my next visit here i can report some luck, see you up there.

Hey Tom I did not mean to make you upset about the hp issue. I was there yesterday 9/13/01 and got a soaker. No Walleye's to report except we did a little swimming with all the rain. In abount two more weeks give or take a day or two, you should be able to start vertically jigging for these fish and swith to minnows. In fact my favorite spot is the hump which is small under water island off of the brown shed off Jamestown. before it gets dark, Walleyes come up on this island and feed. You had better be ready! November is excellent as well when the shad move to the dam. Use a Cicada, Vibe or Heddon Sonar tipped with a minnow on the back. Spunkeye
