Handlining in the lower part of the detroit river has been spotty of late. Some days limit catches other days just one or two. Things should be picking up soon.

Good luck

Hey guys I have a new 1650 Lund and can finally get out and try some perch and smallmouth fishing down there. Where do you guys recommend? I want to error on the safe side as my boat isn't that big and I know Lake St. Clair can get nasty. Thanks Brent.

If you guys are going out saturday, remember its the duck openner on the Canadian side. Dont be surprised if you here lots of gunshots. And give everyone some space, we all have the right to be out there! The "flats" on the river and st.clair will be full of blinds and layout boats, so you might want to avoid those areas.

Hey Gilly,
What kind of 1650 Lund did you pick up and if I may ask, how much did you spend? (boat, motor and trailer?) Where did you buy from?.
I am looking into a Lund at this moment to replace previous boat.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
-LB

Hey LB..... I bought my boat in Canada from Trans Canada Marine in Welland. It is a Canadian only made LUND (they make about seven or so boats only in Canada). It is a Lund Sendero which is basically a 16 foot Pro Sport with no gunnels. They wanted to compete with the Lengend brand over there and came up with this boat. It bought it with a 70 hp oil injected 2 stroke Johnson with a EZ load trailer for about $10,000 dollars US. I also picked up a 8hp Evinrude four stroke for just over $1,000 dollars US- brand new. I really like the boat. If you want any other info I would be happy to share.

Gilly,
Thanks for the follow up. I have been considering the Lund 1650 Explorer with a 40 hp Honda four stroke, about $11,500 +/-(US) but just can't seem to let the cash go at this time. I may wait until the late Winter or early Spring to sign zee papers.
Thanks again,
-LB
