We are spending the week of Sept.22-29 at 1000 Islands and we usually catch (and release) a LOT of smallmouth. This year we'd like to move up river for a day or two fishing for 'eyes near Cape Vincent. Is there anybody out there who has had success locating and catching these critters on the upper reaches of the St. Lawrence and would you be willing to share some of your knowledge and experience? Is night fishing a must? Is trolling or drifitng preferred? Any suggestions as far as baits? We all have Canadian licenses and are equipped for just about anything. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
