I JUST PURCHASED A LUND 1700 FISHERMAN/2001 90 HP JOHNSON I WAS
TOLD THAT THE 90 JOHNSON AND A 115 JOHNSON ARE THE SAME EXCEPT
FOR THE CARBS??????? IS ANY ONE AWARE OF ANY THING ELSE THAT MAY BE AVAIL TO BOOST HORSE POWER ???????

I have a 1999 Alumncraft Pro 170 CS with 2000 Johnson 90hp.
The boat can hold up to 115 hp MAX. I have been research how much different between 90 and 115. The 115 is power to pull the two adult skiers, and found only about 4 mph at WOT faster than 90. I chose 90 because reasonable price. Gps shows me 46 mph WOT, with two adults and two kids, full loaded on quite water. Right now it has 56 hours. I am very happy with it.

We just bought a new Alumicraft magunum 175 with a 2001 90 horse Johnson. We love it and the boat but our motor wont idalgood. It is great at high speeds but at ldal it will kill. Do you have problems with this. I have aslo done resurch between them ans they are almost the same motor.
