Finally had a chance to get out on the big lake today. Beautiful day and hit the water around 6 AM and targeted perch and kings. Casted for about one hour in the mouth of the Ditch and came up empty. Have heard the majority of the fish have moved up the waterway at this time. I did see a few break, but not at all like a week ago. Tried perching the mouth, marker 2 and 4, the donut, the nipsco discharge and the area in front of state park out to 40' of water. Came up with 4 nice perch, one 4 lb smallie and a gobie. Not a lot of production, but a very relaxing 4 hours. Used traditional perch rigs and jigs and minnows. Will probably not hit the big lake now until I hear better reports. Will probably stick to Maxie and Bass with an occasional trip to Shorewood. Keep the news coming on Da Region!
