leadcore line and equipment for

I am going to try fishing with leadcore this summer and would like to know what lbs line to use . Also how big of reel do I need to get, along with the proper action rod? I was looking at a Shakespeare Supra baitcaster and a basspro tourney rod 7'6" heavy action or would medium heavy be fine? The reel will hold 220 yds of 20# line will this be enough? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!! thanks snappin

Well I use 100yds 28lb with 50y-100yards of backing on my fly rod and real out here in the west for trout. Hope this helps. I haven't tried this for walleyes yet.
