Fished most of Monday between Clemenston and Frontier, fairly good fishing, not like the spring but lots of fun, many small sauger, small walleyes and fish up to 24 inches. Anchoring worked the best 3/4 oz jigs, quite a bit of current, wait for them to come to you, and they usually do

Was up fishing the Rainy for the last 3 days. We found that drifting worked better than anchoring. The more aggressive fish were where there was deeper holes near the shoreline. There were fish in the mid-river holes, but they bit really light. Pulled cranks and that seemed to catch a few also. Most of the fish were keeper size, big fish for the weekend was 27"es.
What type of minnows seemed to work best?
Thanks

Used emerald shiners, available at the local bait dealers, but I had about a dozen fatheads from previous days of fishing and although I can't prove anything they worked equally as well
