i need advice on the choice of line to use with my DIAWA 47C line counter reel. i have been using high grade mono, but seem to be missing hookups, probably due to the strech. i also tried a braided line and it ended up with lots of knots.
i normally pull cranks at 75-150 yards, sometimes with snap weights and/or planer boards. i know the new generation line may slip, but i'm sure there is a method to minimimze this from happening. i use the reel to fish for walleye, white & black bass in reservior lakes.
i would greatly appreciate feedback on specific brands and weight which have worked for you.

Drtaz;
Fire Line works for me. Use a mono leader, or a snubber if you need a little stretch.

I use 10lb xt Trelene.Perhaps its not your line but your rod!If your rod is not loading up an is to whippy,the hooks are not going to set in the fish!Speed is another factor,to slow longer reation time for the fish,to fast pulls the hooks.Try changing the trebles off your cranks to better fish holding ones,this made some of my best baits better!

HOPE THIS HELPS
