just wondering if anyone has used the fishing buddy and if so are they worth the money??

Buddy of mine bought a "Fishin Buddy" for use in the Boundary Waters and hates it. I have both an Eagle portable and a Zercom portable and both are super dependable. The Eagle units start in the $150 range, Zercom may no longer make a portable flasher unit. Stay clear of the older Eagle "Supra" models. Another friend has a "Supra" and it has been a disapointment. Plus there are always a bunch of them on ebay for sale, so it seems that nobody keeps them. Most electronics on the market today are pretty decent. But watch out for some of the units with all of the gadgets, they are battery eaters. Good luck.
