call the crows nest or stop and see al he,ll take care of it, they raised the price to $ 130.00 and are selling less permits and that means less pressure so maybe better fishing, the # for the crows nest is in the phone book.

Tom, how long is that permit good for? I remember paying 3 dollars to launch in the winter time down there.

$130.00 TO LAUNCH? ARE YOU CRAZY? LAUNCH AT THE SOUTH SIDE AND RUN UP TO THE DAM. TOM MUST BE A SELF MADE MILLIONAIRE.HE'S ALWAYS CATCHING FISH SOMEWHERE. I'M JEALOUS.

don,t be jealous, i pay the money because its a long ride from the southside when its 5 degrees out, the permit is good from oct 15 thur the end of march, and anyone who knows where it is also knows that when you launch you don,t even have to put the gas motor down all you need is an electric, and once they take the docks out at S.S. if your alone ita a pain in the #####, and the 12 mile ride in the 10 degree weather is more like a 50 mile ride, also i don,t always catch fish i,ve just been on a good roll lately, after 2 major back surgerys launching at the crows nest where your fishing anyways is a conveinence for me.

I kno the river is dirty but do you keep the fish you catch?...i am courious because some people say its alright to eat the fish and some say its bad im just wondering? I havnt been up pymy lately i cant wait to get up there...i hear that they are catchin a good number of fish at the north end, according to you "tom" south sucks lol.. if you go up good luck.

Hi guys, gals! Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and a belly full of turkey and pumpkin pie. Mmmmm Mmmm! Was wondering if anyone could help me or should I say would. :-) Give me a little guidance on a little run up to the Allegheny. Im about 2 hours from Pitt and have been to 3 rivers Stadium. Dont know much else about the area up there. Id like to get a day in around the dam you guys fish. Where to put in and such. Ya could put me within a few feet of the fish if it aint asking to much.:-) Front coming in this weekend and the water temps are getting better. I just like trying new spots. Any help will be appreciated. Down my way I can put you into the sauger. We get a few walleyes. But sauger is the norm. Russell

205,do you know where the southside of pittsburgh is? if so theres a public launch off of 18th street, from there run down river to the point go around the point and head back up river till you come to the first set of locks thats it, below the dam on the left side you,ll see big poles in the water and some docks thats the area you want don,t worry there will more than likely be other boats there, as far as baits go take jigs and minnows and blade baits that should cover it, i don,t think there are any public launchs closer than south side unless you put in futher up north on the allegheny and run down and lock thur, if that interests you let me know and i,ll try to give you some other directions

Thanx Tom, that should put me in the ballpark. I suppose when I come through the Ft.Pitt tunnel I should bear right on to 376? I go that way when I go to the VA hospital. I get off at Forbes Ave. But, apparently I'll get off right near town. Anyway, I can find it from there. Thanx for the info. Cant make up my mind whether to go to Tappan Lake in Ohio and troll, or head your way. Might ketch ya up there this weekend. Russell
