Where exactly in Central Michigan? Honestly the best fishing in your area would over towards Saginaw River. If you need more info contact me at the e-mail addies below.

If you are truly in the Central Michigan area, Mt. Pleasant that is........
Try fishing Coldwater Lake or Hubsher's Gravel Pit.
Both these bodies of water have produced 10#+ 'Eyes in the last couple of years...

The Coldwater Lake that I am refering to is West of Mt. Pleasant about 8 miles. The ramp is a county park....unfortunatly the main entrance is closed as of Oct. The good news is that there is still access to the ramp. You have to use an entrance that is located off a side street just North of the County park.
The ramp is a concrete ramp.
As for the doubts you voiced about 10# Walleye, you are probably referring to the Coldwater Lake located near the Indiana boarder.
The Lake in which I refer to does have 10# Walleye, a good friend boasted a 12# Walleye just two years ago, ice fishing at that!!
Hope this helps you out.....
yes im talking about the one in kinderhook right of I-69 exit #3
Houghton Lake in Roscommon county can be a productive walleye lake from time to time. But lately it has been overtaken by milfoil and can be a TOUGH lake to fish. The pan fishing there is tremendous and the walleye can be good depending on conditions. Check out houghtonlakefishing.com for more details on this lake.

Bite me,
I'm from the Midland/Bay City area and the Saginaw bay is a great place to fish walleyes. Not sure what method you like to use, but the bay and its tributaries offer plenty of action. We catch walleyes in Sanford lake and in Wixom lake, but not the size or quanity of the bay. If you get a chance, I would recommend trying it. Good luck.

If you are near the x-way you might want to consider Burt, Black and Mullet Lakes about 90 min.- 2hr. drive straight north.
