Thank you Mercary for the new rule change for the 2001 merc tournament.I do hope everyone understands the rule of requiring mercury engines to fish the tournament.
(Because i was one of the meny new Mercury ouners that was turned down from the tournament last year)

I totally agree with the decision that Mercury Marine put into its new rule, that only Mercury Marine Products are allowed.
This is showing loyalty to the owners of Mercury Marine Products and rewarding the owners with such a fine tournament.

Over 60 teams that run Merc's were turned back.
Ya think that might have had something to do with it.

Hey A.J. Giaton, I have fished the Merc Tourn for the last 14 years. I have fished with Mercury, Yamaha and currently Johnson engines. Just becuase I do not own a Mercury I get singled out. Well maybe if the dealer would have sharpened the pencil when I bought my last boat I would have a Merc, but now that I Johnson I am being discriminated against. And A.J. maybe if you would have entered the tournament years ago you would have had the preferance on the tournament entry. I also think that TFM Productions has somehting to do with this decision. Yes I am not happy and I will not buy a Mercury product ever again because of the stand that Mercury has taken and I am sure I am not the only unhappy soul out there.
