With the current cold condition's and the given water temps, The sulfer springs off White's Landing In Sandusky Bay,(Lake Erie)Should be Safe for Hard Water fun within the next few weeks.Last year was an outstanding year for Record size Perch & Crappie. This year the #'s should be even better. We caught limit catches in this area in a 15ft jon boat last week and these fish are hungry, and in no hurry to move.
I cant wait to get up there this year. I did really good last year as well. Working on the shanty tonight!

I pulled a 23" Walleye through the Ice off White's landing. I was on the second spring catching Bulls and got the shock of a lifetime. It was the 2nd weekend in Feb.

For around 15 yrs I've wondered what part of the bay Whites Landing is located at. Decided it's time to ask.
Also, does anyone ever fish the channel or around what I think is called the coal docks (NE corner?)? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

JCarp,
White's Landing is located on the SW side of Sandusky Bay. I would say it's between bay bridge and the mouth of the Sandusky River off Rt. 6. Yes, people do fish around the coal docks. Hope this helps.

The main land route to Whites landing is off St.Rt 6 between Fremont and Sandusky. There are dozens of sulfer springs in the water between Muddy creek Bay (The Mouth of the Fremont River) & Willow Point. The springs attract all types of Fish, Mainly Perch & Crappie. The water around them is a few degrees warmer.A local Guide service has shanty rental's for groups of all sizes. I think the prices are around $35 per person they provide a heated shanty and Bait & tackle. And they have guides that are out there every day following the fish. The company is Affordable Outdoors Guide service and the Phone # is (419) 684-7501. If you call them they would be able to give a report on ice conditions and how hungry the fish are.

I just got in off the Ice at white's landing, current conditions are 3 inches of good ice.still use caution around the springs they are thin. There was 2 guys out there fishing and each had a few nice sized perch in there buckets. It will be at least 3 or 4 more days until the ice is ready for shantys & ATV's

Coming off Rt.2 at St. Rt. 269 or St. Rt. 6 go west on Rt.6 for about 5 miles give or take. I believe the road your looking for is C.R. 296 turn right your there when you see water.
