I am planing to make out there and give it one more try this Friday or Saturday but I am a bit worried about the ice. They say that the fish are being taken late, after 1:00 am, so I'm planing to stick it out. I would appreciate all the info about the ice though, here in Cleveland, Rocky River froze over night.
Thanks!

Arrived at Huron on 12/27. Launched, others had broke the ice before me. Fished till dark with no hits. EZ Mark and others stayed out till 9 or so and didn't get fish. On Friday I tried to find a good reason to break ice and go out, procrastinated till 11am and decided I didn't want to try it and went home. The water temp on the lake was 38/39 and if you can find good water clarity I think you can still get into some fish. If the river opens up I would come back but I think it may be over for the year unless you can launch farther west at Mazurik or Catawba.. Good Luck

Well, you finally logged on......I was out there on the 26th, I spent the night pulling ice from my rod tips. At that time, there was ice on the water under the bridge and at the ramps. I usually keep a watch on this site for info from a kindly fellow who's name is Den. His info tends to be correct. (I'm the guy that was fishing the 72nd pier with you and Otis when you two went to the intake and caught fish.)

Went out on the pier last night, didn't get a bite, fished about 4 hrs.Didn't see a fish caught either.Went all the way out to the end of the pier.It wasn't hard to get out, not much snow or ice on rocks.I talked to the man who runs the bait store,he said that not to many fish caught off the pier this season? As far as ice in the water around the pier it is clear. Good luck and be careful.

I really didn't have a reason to log on, this year, after three month of shore fishing I ended up with one at E 72nd, one at Huron, about 4 weeks ago and one lost at Huron the same time.
Well, I will try Edgewater and E 72nd one more time tonight. Then it looks like I will make good use of the (home) rod holder my wife got me for Christmas this year.
Hope, by some miracol things will turn around tonight.
