i am going to try for some walleyes this year on the ice.i have never done this so i need some help.i will fish the sag. bay and river.i use a lot of fireline in the summer should i use this when ice fishing or what should i use.what #test is best? i will be the first to tell you i do not now anything about this type of fishing.i did buy a dave genz rod so i do think i have a start on the good line of eq.any help you can give would be great.

I use 10 to 14 lb. fireline with a 10 lb. fluorocarbon leader on my ice reels. Its worked well so far. As far a lures go i've had some decent luck with 1/2 & 3/4 oz. swedish pimples (in chartruse or green) with all 3 hooks on the treble tipped with 2" minnows. Have caught a few on 1/2 to 3/4 oz. blade baits and #7 and #9 jigging rapalas tipped with a minnow head. Good luck!
