I would really like some info/tips on the Mille Lacs bite. Where would you guys start at? I have had great fishing there this summer, but not too much expirence ice fishing there. Thanks for your help!!

Eagle-A friend and I were chatting last weekend, he was on Mille Lacs I was on shore. There was 3.5-4 inches a mile or so out from Eddie's. He was scared but they were catching fish in the main basin in 31-35 feet. I have had my best luck in deeper water off 3 mile or on snowmobile missions bouncing from flat to flat. Now that I think about it we caught more fish with willow sticks and plain hooks when I was a kid than I do now. My personal mission is to try the real shallow stuff at night this year. Did you read the article from in- fish about that?

If this is eyecrosser, you need to stick with your own handle bud!
Most all the same locations you fished in the summer will work in the winter. I personally like the rocks in the early winter.Perch seem to find a home there when the weeds are gone. later on in the winter though, the schools of perch move out to the mud to find structure and more comfortable conditions. If you can find the perch on Mille lacs you can find the Eyes near by! Good luck! and may the fish be with you! EE
