Hey all
Anybody have anything good to say about the ice conditions at Mosquito Reservior. I think that I would like to go this coming Saturday. I havent a clue where to go as far as the lake is concerned. I usually put in at the state park and go east from there. Is this a good place for winter walleyes. Does anyone have a better suggestion?
Thanks

Stoped down at Mosquito Lake yesterday most of the lake has 4-6 inches of Ice Stop at the causeway bait shop she has a map with the thickness of the ice and the locations were the anglers are fishing

Several of us fished Mosquito this past Friday and Saturday. The lake has about 4" of good ice.Friday the fishing was pretty good, but Saturday it was slow with a few fish caught though.Decent keepers were being caught at the southeast end of the lake.A good area to start is off of rt305 on the southeast side of the lake. You will see a sign that says Imagination Station boat ramp.Go about 500yds offshore and about 500yds to the north. This should put you in a decent area.Use Gold Bladebaits or Jigs tipped with a whole crappie minnow.

Fred,
14 ft. has been the ticket with #5 jigging rapalas in silver/blue and perch. Slow breaking dropoffs, but 14 ft. has definitely been the key. Don't forget to tip the middle treble with a minnow head or tail. Good Luck. MURFA
