Does anyone have the dates for the Tip Up Festival for 2002? Looks like I will have a chance to take my grandsons for some ice fishing and snowmobiling the weekend of JAN.19TH. Any other suggestions as to closer areas as I will be coming from Central Ohio .

Tip-up town is the last two weekends of January.Houghton Lake is pretty busy during the festival, but you can still get into some good fishing. Stay away from the south shore along M-55. All of the festivities take place along the south shore. Good luck-Jon
Good timing Tip Up Town USA will be officially kicking off at 10:00 am that day. Here's the site from the Houghton Lake Chamber of Commerce:

The fishing contest is from 10:00-4:00. It's alot of fun for the kids, plenty of activities for everyone. Like Hoyt1 said, if it's serious fishing you're after, you'll want to stay away from Tip Up Town, but if it's fun you're looking for, then the festival is the place to be.

You can get the last up to date info on Houghton Lake by going to www.saginawbaywalleyeclub.com and clicking on the link to Lymans'on the Lake. They always have the local information and travel info that you are looking for. Hope this help's.
