Has anybody been trying any night fishing off the pier??? This S.W. wind should push the ice out.

Goose, Lakeside is ice free . We fished Sun. night with no fish. There were 4 of us fishing . The lake was icefree as far as you could see.Fished up there 4 times this fall with no fish to show. The only place we caught any fish this fall at night was at Maumee Bay State Park. There were no numbers taken but they were big fish.

Walleye Wiz, Did you have luck at Maumee Bay from shore or in a boat? I tried Maumee Bay twice this winter, but got blanked both times. Thanks

Mike, We fished on the steps behind the lodge. We use all floating Bombers back there and reel as slow as you can.It is almost like topwater bass fishing where you hear a splash from the fish hitting the crank before you feel the bite.

Walleye Wiz, thanks for the reply. I only caught two fish at Lakeside this fall too, and none at Huron. About a dozen night pier trips for two fish. A tough year. I guess there were a few more fish caught at Luna Pier in Michigan. I friend of mine caught four one night, but I never fished there. Maybe next year.
Hey gus where is Lakeside pier? Im from cleveland, and am only familiar with nickle plate and the huron pier. Still waiting for the first one this fall.thanks Al

Lakeside Pier is between Catawba and Marblehead facing Kelly's Island. Take 2 west cross the Bay to Rt. 269 exit. Take 269 N. to 163 E. 163 E. to Lakeshore Rd. turn left. Proceed to the gate at Lakeside. Go to the 3rd stop and turn left and follow to the pier parking lot.
