Hey Tom, did you get the e-mail I sent last weekend? I can come this weekend but I don't feel comfortable bringing the boat by myself. I'd have no idea where I was going. I'd like to hook up with you but you'll have to let me know when it suits. Glad you're feeling better.

See you at the Dam on Sat. Anyone know what the 13th street ramp looks like? Will have 4wd, shovels, and salt - will I need a plow truck/dynamite?

I was out all day Sunday last weekend. About 5 inches of snow fell while we were out. We salted up the launch when we put in and shoveled the snow off when we came out. I have 4WD and pulled the boat out without any hesitation at all. Chris

I drive past the ramp everyday on my way to work. I'm on the other side of the river so I can see it from there. This morning it was snow covered. I wouldn't go there without a shovel and some salt. Just a little advice to help you out.

Russell if things do like in the past the runoff will be our friend, i don,t think there will be that much that it will have a negetive effect what it should do is push some more fish down from the dam right where i,ll be waiting, let me know whats up friday night and if you decide you want to stick around for saturday let me know, i talked to JB and i,m meeting him saturday morning this will be the first time we have fished from the same boat together, anyways let me know tomorrow night, talk to ya later.

Ernest we fished the mouth of Elk on Thursday after Christmas. The last 30 yards or so of the creek were open (no ice). If you are familiar with this area there is an island at the mouth of the creek. We fished from the island and caught about 20 fish. Was a very extreme weather day. No snow but bitter cold. They said with the wind chill it didn,t get above about 10 or 11 degrees F. Caught all the fish with jigs and maggots. White and brown or just plain white seemed to be the hot color. Chris

Boat is in garage charged/gassed and rearin to go for Sat. I think the duck/goose hunters owe us a good ramp cleaning/salting. I went around the island for those guys - I bet I cost them a box of shells. Everytime we looked back, nothing fell from the sky. Maybe they should bring rods and take home a fish meal. Anyway, they are very friendly and considerate, push a few ducks down and they'll keep an eye on the trucks. See you sat. P.S. Be on your best behavior, I may have my boss in the boat! Oh yea, what size minnows are you fella's using?

hey guys, I talked a couple of guys into going with me on sat. this will be my first time this year. usually go farther up river to tarentum. from all your generous posts I have a good Idea what to use but I have a couple other questions if you don't mind answering. first this most recent post says something about keeping an eye on vehicles? is it vandals or police. am I right in saying its the sharpsburg exit off 28 and which way do I turn off the exit to get to 13th Street. Finally are there any bait shops around there and what time do they open! thanks for the info. I always wanted to try HPD but always thought that the crows nest was the only launch so like I said I've always went to tarentum.
