Make sure you take everything home that you take to the lake! LOL.
Thanks for drilling those holes. I knew they were yours when they were 6".

I have not been on the lake since mid December. I've been trying for eyes and slimmers below the lake on the river. Maybe Art/Co or BILL have some insight.
dkooser,
How have you been doing below the dam and what techniques work the best? Don't care what I catch, just want to do a little soft water fishing on Sunday before football.
Thanks,
Lou

When we went it was split shot with minnows. Cast up stream and let it fall back.

Stocker trout are the norm. Have seen a few decent browns taken down there and have heard of walleye in the same areas. Easily, you can bring home a limit of trout in less than an hour. Eric has the technique, use size 12 short shank hooks (I like circle hooks) and small split shot. The whole rig should move with the current and never heavy enough to sit on the bottom. I like the area just below where Pueblo Blvd crosses over the Arkansas. The Feds have the portion immediately below the dam closed off. E-mail me if you want specifics.

Hey Eric,
We must have just missed each other on Saturday. Thanks for helping Dave find my stash of Trout junk. I didn't have much luck on Saturday just one Eye and 4 slimmers. I drilled those holes on the bridge then worked my way south to the river channel. I also fished a couple of pits that are just South of the bridge not sure if you saw those holes or not.

No sweat. I noticed something laying over in the snow, but hadn't managed to walk over there to see what it was.
There were a few guys hunkered down just south of us about 200 or so yards. More came out about 3:00. Didn't see anyone catch anything.
Call me at 303-762-7831 if you are heading out Thursday after work. I'm off due to an office move.
