Are you headed up there this weekend Andy?

Gee Neal, I sure would like to head somewhere. Don't know If I'll get out. I don't like going out on the Ice alone, especially down here. I'm wondering what the Ice is like up at Boyd? Just got me a used Jiffy 8" auger and haven't tried it out yet. Hope to soon though!

I know what you mean! I went up to 11-Mile last weekend by myself, then I hiked into a part of the lake hardly anyone fishes during ice season. It was kind of wierd!

I think I will probably stay home this weekend and park in fornt of the TV. There are some great football games on this weekend! Besides fishing has been really tough for me so far this season!!! I do want to goto to Glendo at least once this winter though.

Fished Boyd this morning with minnows about 150 yards east of the marina bouy in about 10 feet of water. Not many fish moving around and no one else was catching much. I was hoping for some walleye, but landed 3 decent trout instead (14-16"). The ice was about 7" thick, and the ranger said it was about 5" near the jetski ramp (there was another group of people there too). I may try it over there tomorrow or maybe try to find the deep channel where the center of the lake narrows.

I was at Boyd Friday afternoon and I picked up two walleyes that were both @ 16" and one nice white bass. I picked all of them up jigging, not bite one on the shinner/ slip bobber. They came out of 9' to 12'.
As far as I know about Glendo, my buddy has been up a couple of times and they have caught fish, more cats then wallys, but it sound like its pretty steady. They're going in at Elk Horn and working back towards red Canyon. I posted last week and had no response, but has anyone fished Rifle Gap for walleyes. Thanks.

Went up there today. Wally's are going near the dam. 10" of ice. Oh, and it was windy, the kind where the locals were even saying it was windy.

By the way, this was my first time ice fishing Glendo. How do you get minnows when you're headed up there? (can't get them in Glendo)

The guys that had them pretty much cleaned up. I had a couple bumps while jigging spoons and caught one that I estimate was 4-5 lbs with one of those salted dead minnows you can get at Walmart, on a jig.

(I estimate because I let her go... at the bottom of the hole... so I wouldn't get my hands wet.)

The ice is clear as glass, so I did get to see her. She put her belly on the ice when she left.

I use to fish Rifle Gap back in the early and mid 90s. We would absolutely slaughter the Browns and Bows trolling leadcore and Dick Nite spoons. We also caught some nice smallmouths casting cranks along the dam and the island. Never caught or saw a walleye landed. I talked to a local from Glenwood Springs one night as we were loading the boat. He told us that they had once stocked walleyes there and that there was a small remnant popualtion that was spawning successfully? These guys always fished at the dam at night! It is a good fishery and easy to fish, but I would not drive all that way just to fish for Walleyes!!!

Neal/Co, I am fishing that Rifle Chamber of Commerce derby next weekend, and I figure if its slow we might just fish into the night or
put some waterdogs under tip ups at Harvey Gap on Sunday.
