Hey Hamsterbrain,
I thought you were to busy to fish. Dale is picking his boat in the morning. Hoping to get out on Sun.

I got a call from a good fishing friend of mine this morning that Mazurik is open and that there were 4 trailers there, with one boat visible. He was sitting at the ramp when he called and said it is wide open.

Bret, if Hal is going out it is smart to go to lorain, he will make it rough around the area that he is going to, thats natural for when he goes, the weather gets bad, and the lake gets rough. (just kidding) i hope you both get some fish. let me know how you make out. good luck and good fishin.

Den, you forgot.....dirty water too! It's a new year though and I plan on having nothing but good weather this year when I go fishing!
Bret, give me a call today or tomorrow.

EZ Marc was my source and you can read his comments posted below. However, I did see lots of ice on the Lakevision camera yesterday at Put In Bay so there's still some out there floating around.

I have mostly fished Huron and the Sand. bay would like to venture over that way a little more this spring. Where are some good spots to start? Probably be using Mazurik.

Riskyhooker, Good question. No doubt, some guys will troll around the islands, but I like to jig. I'm going to run east out of Mazurek to Lakeside reef, if I don't see any fish, I'll run down to the lighthouse at marblehead. Should see some real hogs. Good luck and watch the wind, theres still ice out there and it could block your way back to the ramp.

Depending on the wind and water, we will probably start off north of Cedar Point. There's usually lots of fish caught between Kelleys and Marblehead in late February and early March. They have to be staging somewhere and I don't think the bite ever did take off NW of Huron in December like it usually does. That's our starting point.
