Anyone catch the nightly news? Supposedly they are saying that there is no safe ICE anywhere in SD. I didn't get out this past weekend. I'll be lost if I'm stuck here until soft water.

I would wait for some other reports but some places like Bitter, Waubay should be marginal to Ok. Keep in mind that with this weather the river should open up in certain areas in the next couple of weeks. There is no place I like better then the river.
I don't doubt it, a couple of the larger sloughs near my house had several inches of water on top of them yesterday, and on the downwind side, the waves in the surface water had eaten completely through the ice, I could see the weeds down there! I didn't fish last weekend either, and if I go again before ice out, I'll be walking.
