Thinking of hitting Pueblo Sunday looking for some spooning action.
Any word on the bite there? Anyone know the ice conditions at Boyd?
Usually pretty good right after ice-out. Anxious to get the line wet.
Thanks

We caught about 80 eyes right by the no wake buoy near the marina today. Alot of small ones and only seven keepers. One was 8lbs though. All on sandworms we got from "Indiana Boney".

Sounds good to hear you caught some fish!
What is a sand worm?
And who is "Indiana Boney"
Thanks
Mike
Are you talking about Pueblo or Boyd, JB? If Pueblo, which marina, N or S? Also, same questions re: sandworms and the indiana fella?

I drove past Boyd yesterday and saw a few people out by the jetski ramp and one person out in the northeast corner. The ice didn't look very good to me, but I didn't venture out to see how thick it was or if anyone was catching anything.

Did you make it out to Pueblo yesterday? I had to wait around for a High speed internet service guy yesterday , so I didn't make it out to Pueblo.

Yes and No. Yes I took the boat and all the kids to the lake. Did I fish? Yes and No. Did more babysitting than anything else. Eric/Co - figured you would not have wanted to go under those conditions. Caught 0 fish. Water temp is about 35 over by the dam, 37 on the west end. Ice beyond Mid Lake Shoals. Saw more shad around mid lake shoals (beside the ice) than anywhere on the lake.

You're right. I'm not a big fan of kids. Especially kids I can't discipline. I can only imagine how your kids are, if they are anything like their Dad!!
I caught a master angler Perch yesterday. 12.5 inches. Only fish I caught yesterday at Chatfield. I did catch a nice buzz though!

Howdy. I was thinking about getting the boat out one of these weekends and was just wondering how much ice is on Pueblo? Is it 80% open? 90% open? Just curious. Thanks for the info.

The ice starts on the west side of the island at mid lake shoals and extends north, north east into Denver cove. East of that it is open. I did not check out the coves but the main body is wide open.

Fished pueblo Sunday with no action at all. Only fished we spotted were near mid lake shoal and very few at that. I think JB is fullofit.

I don't know. 10% of the fishermen catch 90% of the fish.

I would have to agree (unless JB was talking about Boyd, which I never got an answer to my ?). I fished from shore along the big dropoff across from the north marina & walleye spawn station w/o a bite. I tried everything, slabbing, jigging w/ minnows, worms, grubs, etc. Nothing. Beautiful day to be out though. Kids had fun playing around the shoals. Shelf drops to 25-30 ft , so I figured they would be suspended next to it. Wrong.
Again, JB, were you at Pueblo or Boyd? And what is up w/ the sandworms and "Indiana Boney"?
