Lake Erie Access

I would like to fish Lake Erie between Catawba Island & South Bass Island. Does anyone know if the boat launch at Catawba is open (free of ice)? I undesand jigging for eyes is pretty good this time of year. Can anyone suggest any areas that historically have produce consistance catches of eyes. Thanks in advance for all the advice.

The ramps at Catawba S.P. are free of ice. The floating docks are not in but you can launch anyway. There is no ice around Catawba.
