We changed some of our tournament dates because there are about 3 or 4 teams who want to fish some Colorado tournaments.A friend and I are going to fish either Pueblo or Trinidad(hopefully both). If we only get one, we were wondering which one do you guys like the best? Thanks, and hope to meet some of you in person.

I am not all that familiar with Trinidad so Art/Co or BILL will need to respond about that lake but Pueblo has alot of walleye. Most you will catch will be under the legal limit of 18 inches but there are some big fish in Pueblo. Alot of the guys in the CWA are suprised by the number of 8+ pounders that are caught in the nets every year during the spawn. Jigging with half a crawler will get you high numbers of fish and occasionally a keeper. Some guys like to bottom bounce and some like to troll as their "main" pattern but for me, jigging is the most consistant. I am a newby at trolling and have been spending alot of time (and money) perfecting that technique in hopes that I can crack a bigger fish pattern. One advantage Pueblo has over T-dad is its size. One disadvantage is that Pueblo gets crowded although the fish don't seem to shy away from the boat activity. I will fish both tournaments T-dad and P-low, hope to see ya'll at one or both. E-mail me if you need more info.

Gee Tough one, but these fisheries are night and day,

Pueblo being a night fishery, only twice did I get legal limit , both after 7pm.
Trinidad, fish bite all day as there are walleye and saugeye mixed in.
I am not saying no one can pull a legal limit out of Pueblo, some can. The netting in springtime once again will prove large fish are present. I live ten minutes away from Pueblo, yet on summer weekends there are better place to catch to keep and/or release fish as Pueblo turns into water/jet ski heaven.
