Den, are they fishin from the bank? Never fished the Vermilion for Steelhead before. Are you open on Sunday? Thanks Kelly.
You can fish from the bank, but most are using hip boots , or waders, and most are releasing the fish . yes i am open tomorrow, from 7am to 2 pm. you can call me at 1-888-855-9032. today the water was clear, but it is raining now so it may be stained or even dirty tomorrow, depending on how much water reaches the river tonight. good luck and good fishin.

If you have to travel a little anyway you are much better off to head further east. There are a lott more steelhead in the eastern rivers and there is a lott more room to fish. Vermilionn everyone pretty much comes from the same area generally and you have to fight the people.

SPENT SAT. ON THE ROCKY RIVER. SAW ALOT OF STEELIES AND COHO CAUGHT, MOSTLY COHO, BUT THE SIZE TO THE STEELIES THAT WERE CAUGHT WAS PRETTY GOOD. TRIED TROLLING FOR LITTLE WHILE WITH NO RESULTS EXCEPT FOR A COUPLE OF MENTALLY UNSTABLE SHAD ABOUT A FOOT LONG, SAT DOWN ON THE RIVER FOR THE REST OF THE DAY AND MUST HAVE MISSED THE BITE, BLUE POWER BAIT AND JIG AND MAGGOT FOR STEELIES AND SPAWN SACKS FOR THE COHO WERE THE BEST BAITS. TIGHT LINES, EYE PROBLEM

Hey Eye Promlem, care to share what river you were fishing? Also would a canoe with trolling motor be of any advantage? Thanks in advance, Kelly.

KELLY, I WAS FISHING THE ROCKY RIVER BY THE PUBLIC LAUNCH. YES A CANOE OR SMALL RIVER BOAT WITH A KICKER OR TROLLING MOTOR WOULD BE IDEAL, I TOOK MY 19FTER WHICH IS A LITTLE TOO BIG BUT IT WORKS. GOING THIS MORNING TO FISH FROM THE BANK. THEY SHOULD BE RUNNING FOR ANOUTHER MONTH OR SO, SOME PRETTY GOOD SIZE TO THE FISH TOO. MAKE SURE YOU BRING SPAWN SACKS, POWER BAIT AND MAGGOTS THE BITE VARRIES ALOT FROM DAY TO DAY.P.S. MAKESURE YOU FISH WITH VERY LIGHT LINE OR YOU WONT CATCH ANYTHING. GOOD LUCK ANDTGHT LINES. YOU CAN E-MAIL ME AT EYEPROBLEM@AOL.COM FOR INF OR DIRECTIONS IF NEEDED. CANT WAIT FOR THE EYES TO TURN ON.TIGH LINES EYE PROBLEM.
The rocky has been pretty good as of late. Some real big fish to, have a buddy that fishes every week day when possible. The river should be in great shape from thurs on. I'm fishing thurs, sat, sun.
