Did anyone make it out this weekend? After the weather we had this week I decided to stay in the house. Gonna try and make it out this weekend.

I made it out to the garage to finish riggin' the boat. Now if we could have a group prayer for warm weather and open water.

Not I. Too much home repair stuff this past weekend. Next weekend is a "non-fishing" weekend too. Maybe the 16th though. Got a bad case of the no-fish itch.

Went to Chatfield on Sunday. 7 trout between the two of us and 1 lost at the hole. Biggest was a 5.5 lb Brown. First Brown I've ever caught! Ice was about 12 inches in most spots but we found spots that were 4 inches out there. Kinda spooky.

We should probably pray for about a week of long steady downpours too. Atleast with the snow we get moisture and have increased chances at not having plains impoundments dry up.

Eric let me guess dead sticking with minnow over a channel or on the edge of a gravle pit?

Is that your final answer?

Can I use a life line? If so I'd like to 50/50 and take whats left. If not see below.

Well I think its either that or small jigs and I am sticking with the minnows over either a channle or the edge of a gravel pit because of how well that normally works. So, yes Rege thats my final answer.

Ice jig with a chunk of crawler over a weedbed.

I don't withhold on here. I just didn't have a strategy when I went out that day. I walked straight out from the swim beach, just north of rookery. It was about 17 feet deep.

Seems I remember a post about getting into fish really well in that area after ice out???? That spot gets a lot of word of mouth it seems. There's supposed to be honey hole for big trout either in that area or over by the handicap pier in teh cove to the north west of the pier. Friend who bass fishes smallies is always telling me about it. Tight lines.
