Ok, so theres a question in there somewhere, I think...
HOWEVER! If you want the facts why don't you call the DCNR yourself?
As of yesterday, there was an legal issue raised by "state" legal that had to be addressed. This came up last week apparently on the day the press release was to be "released". Call Gene Giza.
Or better yet, ask the garbage pickup man at the linesville boat livery. I've found the locals a virtual watershed of truth and accuracy.
For what its worth, pymie may infact dodge a change this year, but to think it will be forever 10hp is naive.:P

thank you for the name and number "i disagree" i didnt realize my last post would upset you so much. as far as the hp goes i will fish the lake if it is 10 hp or 125 hp. but for now i think ill save my quarter and take the locals words for it.
I disagree
03-07-2002, 02:26 PM
LOL!! Nah, you didn't upset me at all. When I read your post you stated you talked to someone who is this or that, who does this or that, yadda yadda, nope, no changes , so and so said so....blah blah, so I know its not gonna change, but maybe I don't know...
(but by the way, did it change?)
You crack me up!
If that sombody you spoke with is employed at the executive level of the PFBC, or the executive level of the DCNR, I would listen to them. Anything else anyone else has to say, as of right now, is heresay.
Period.
Hey I disagree, just thought I'd jump in here for all the people who are getting tired of your "I'm superior to everybody" attitude. I don't care what your opinion is on the issue. I'm just tired of you clogging up the board with your crap. If you have information on a horsepower change, let us know. As for now, I believe it's still 9.9.
Personally, I don't have real strong feelings either way, but there is a right way to express your feelings. While I'm on the subject... I don't understand the argument that since everybody pays taxes that everybody should be able to do what they want on public land. If I'm on a public golf course and somebody wants to hunt right next to me, should they be allowed because they pay taxes too? Should we be pushing to drive our boats in roped off swimming areas because we payed for that water too? Maybe we should take our boats to the public swimming pool too since that is our water. Heck we better make the shallow end a little deeper so our motors don't bottom out!! Who cares if a couple of the little ones drown. Some of your arguments carry little weight as far as I am concerned. Different types of land and water lend themselves to different activities.
As for Pymatuning, it's a great lake. I enjoy fishing there in my 9.9. As for whether it will change for the better or worse if the hp is changed I have my opinions. It's a shallow lake and there are a lot of stumps. Oh well, I'm getting off the subject... Like I said, if you have official information let us know and will make the necessary changes.

Wall-I sounds like the garbage man you talked to was right he must have talked to idisagree because they both gave you the same answer. It's sad that an informative site like this one has to have obstinate people on here, that try to make themselves feel like they are better than you, and know more. This same person posted 35 days ago that we could expect a decision (any day now)so i don't think he knows as much as he thinks he does.Sorry to take up your time let's all think fishing, that's what this site is all about .Wading should start to heat up real quick with some of these warm fronts, hope to go out and try it real soon. Good Luck LCL
Hey LCL, looks like we're on the same page but I beat you to the post by 8 minutes. You ready to get out there and pound some walleye!!!

jb, sorry you're taking offense to my respose to questions asked on this board. If you care to take the time to read the original post, it is titled "pymatuning hp update" posted by wall-i.
Now then if you care to re-visit my post made at 2:16 on the 7th, you'll see in the 3rd paragraph from the bottom, I stated:
"As of yesterday, there was an legal issue raised by "state" legal that had to be addressed. This came up last week apparently on the day the press release was to be "released". Call Gene Giza.":)
I don't mean to offend you but if you want the *facts* wouldn't you want the most reliable source available? Let me put it another way. What information would you deem more accurate, some info from your buddys buddy who talked to so and so who heard from you know who, who lives next door to your uncle Charlie, or,...........THESE GUYS!!!!!!

jb, I don't know why you think I have a "superior to everyone" attitude. The questions were asked, I was able to answer them,... where's the problem? If its my delivery youhave a problem with, well, I can't help you there. So far as wall-i "saving his quarter" and taking the locals word, well, thats his choice.
If you want to debate what you're tryin to state as my position, Aw,you know the "tax argument" don't bother. Thats never been my position. I've stated i'm an avocate of more HP on the lake. I've also pointed out this is a state park, and the sailboaters have as much right to use the lake. Nothing more. I have my reasons.
In fact I've been VERY concise to the point. Take the time to re-read what Ive said. In fact Mr. Wall-I made the concise and to the point statement in the thread on Feb. 27.
http://www.walleyecentral.com/cgi-bin/dcf/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=7901&forum=fishingreports&omm=0
Then, theres the post I started on Feb 22nd. Just shy of 2 weeks ago, *note* Not the 35 days ago LCL talks about.
http://www.walleyecentral.com/dcf/fishingreports/7885.html
If LCL would take the time to call, he wouldn't be able to make statements like, "This same person posted 35 days ago that we could expect a decision (any day now)so i don't think he knows as much as he thinks he does."

Lenny I see no need to apologize. The question was asked. I answered it. Yes this is an informative site. Again, a question was asked, I anwered it. Noboby is better than anybody here. Did you stop to think for a minute here, or better yet take the time to call the state about the issue? Sorry, as much as it sounds cruel or hurtful, I'd have to say i do know more about the issue than you. If anything, I think you owe me an apology.:*
Did you read my response to jb?

I put my 3 cents in and told everyone That I Talked with Pete Coloengo, and Sam Concilla top dog in the PFBC and good friend with me and I told you all in my post some time back and I will tell you once again .The DCNR can propose anything they want but nothing has come to the PFBC about the change and or is there any politicions thinking of supporting any bill on this issue.Trust me I have the Indide scoop on the hp change.ant none And I dont care what that joker from the DCNR says.He is full of ?hit and has no common courtsy to ansewer any e-mails that I sent to him I wanted his openion but I dont need it he is just blowing smoke up everyones ?ss like the guy that started this bull ?hit.I will keep you all posted and dont belive PymatuningLake hp change. It ant going to happen
Thank You AKA Walleye Hitman

I disagree,
I think you missed my main point. I don't want to go back and read your posts because I don't have strong enough feelings to invest the time to debate this. I just don't like the way you respond to people. You accuse people of this "he said, she said" stuff when in fact that is all your doing yourself. The issue is getting old in my eyes and nothing has changed officially.
Bottom line for me. When I see the word "Pymatuning" in one of the post titles, I get excited because I think it may be fishing information. When I see it proceeded or followed by the letters "hp", I lose interest.

Ditto on the LCL post. Fair bite, but nothing to jump about.
One word I Disagree. "PAXIL"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Talked to PBFC. They told me that the 9.9 HP Limit will never be lifted in man made lakes because of erosion.
I agree. It is to dangerous for bigger outboards on this lake. How many props do you think that will get busted in the early spring when the suken islands are not marked by the fish commision?

Mr.I disigree I not going to give you the time to debate this issue with me.Because first of all my resourses are very strong in the outdoor community and I have gained a good repore with the top officals in the DCNR & PFBC.so I no that my information is very reaible and I wish you would let go of the rope so that the issue will die.Its not going to happen.

Lets talk facts.
The issue will be over when the process is complete.
FACT 1. Pymie is being concidered for an increase in HP. Read paraghaph 5 of this release.
http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/press/boating01.htm
FACT 2. This same release was released AGAIN on 2/01/02.
FACT 3. The DCNR advisory council proposed modifications to Section 11.221(f)(4) to read:
(QUOTE)
"The bureau is suggesting the addition of language that would read: The following activities are prohibited without written permission of the department…. "(4) Operating personal watercraft, also known as jet skis, unless the body of water is posted as being open to motorboats without a limit on horsepower." While we support this language we would urge the bureau to reconsider the limitation of jetskis on park lakes based solely on horsepower. Example - If manufacturers reduce horsepower in jetskis to 15 horsepower does the bureau concede that these vehicles will be able to access other state park lakes, much like motorboats with 15 horsepower?"
THIS took place in an October 24 2001 letter from a state lawyer
Heres the link.
http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/cnrac/oct2401parkrulesandregscomii.htm
FACT 4. The meeting minutes from the september 24th DCNR advisory council are available at this link. http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/cnrac/minutes/sept2601min.htm
Read under the discussion section. Pay close attention to paragraphs 9 and 10. Anyone running more than 10 hp read paragraph 14. Pymie is clearly "in the run".
FACT 5. http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/polycomm/pressrel/bowerdam1001.htm
Lake Augusta AVERAGES 6 feet deep!!!!!! UNLIMITED HORSEPOWER!!!!! STATE PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!! do you reeeeallllly think it'll never happen in pymie?
(John, Augusta is man made, just like pymie, just like kinzua) ;)
FACT 6. WHOOPS THEY LET IT SLIP OUT!!!! Theres a pilot program!!!! Lets look at the Meeting agenda for the MARCH 27 2001 ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING Under the EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS REPORT from 10:15 until 10:25 AM What does it say? OK I'll tell you, it says "park lake horsepower PILOT program"
http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/cnrac/agendas/mar272002agenda.htm
Thank you for AKA Walleye hitman? Hey, spell check is your friend. ;)
Are you really a jounalist? ewww ugly spelling. OK enough of the jabs. Excuse for not taking YOUR word. Pontificate all you want. I'll wait for the press release, thank you very much.
