Anyone fishing around Catawba use caution, as there are trap nets all the way around the island. These nets can be seen from shore and to as whether or not there are nets further out I do not know.

Are these the nets with the red flags on them sticking out of the water? I talked to an ODNR officer about those a few weeks ago and "SUPPOSEDLY" they are down far enough where they wont jeopardize your outdrive etc. Not like I would chance it though!!
