I just ordered a couple spools of this line for the first time. I've never used it before, but like a lot of people, I just had to try something new! Am I going to be dissapointed or not? I am going to try some for icefishing, and some for trolling bouncers & cranks. Just curious.
Take care,

I tried that sfuff a couple of years ago, and used it for about 2 days. I found that it was very stiff, held memory really bad, and would snap not stretch like other monos. It was a real hassle to use, and ended up in the trash bin. This is my experience with it, others my like it.

I have been using this line for longer than I care to talk about.
I can tell you that you will either love it or hate it. I absolutely love the stuff for ice fishing and in applications where there is not an abrasion problem. if you use the stuff for snells make sure you retie anytime a pliers or other apparatus is needed to remove the hook. i can say with confidence when things are tuff you will catch more fish with this line. (been proven many times over)
hope this helps
good luck

I tried a spool of 6 pound test Tectan a couple years ago. I liked the clean feel I got through it and the smaller diameter.
But, when when I used it in 32 degree weather or less, I had problems with the knots breaking very easily. I was using a double improved clinch knot. Maybe I should have tried a palomar knot. I called Cabelas and talked to their fishing guy. He said they were getting a number of complaints about that happening with the 6 pound test. Nobody had any problems with the 8 pound test on up. He said to send back the unused spool and they would give me a full refund or they would send a spool of 8 or 10 pound test for free. I like 6 pound test for jigging so I sent it back for the refund. Maybe it was just a bad batch plus maybe they have reformulated it and my problem no longer exists.
