I'm heading to the river April 5 and 6. Does anyone know the water temp? (I'm thinking about swimming, LOL.) What is ideal? 58 degrees? Thanks

If you want 58 degrees, I wouldn't show up before June. lol
With the weather we've had lately, if the water temp is above 40 degrees by next week, I would feel fortunate. Would be nice if it's 42 or above.

Right now, you'll find temps in the upper 30's. However, you and the other 1.3 bazillion boats will find warmer water below the stacks. In my opinion, "peak" fishing for males and females will occur in the mid 40's. By the time the water temp hits 58, you're well into the middle of May and most of the spawners have left the system.

So mid 40's is the temp to look for. My temp gauge sending unit only reads from the bottom og the boat so are you talking surface temp?

Yes, surface temp in the mid-40's
