Here's my two cents of todays 6 hrs on the lower Detroit river. WHERE DID ALL THE FREAKIN BOATS COME FROM? I've never seen so many folks fishing the river in March.
As for the results, I did not see very many fish landed. Then again I busted away from the crowd and worked a less traveled area. Managed to find three fish. Two of which were my personal largest ever. Both released to spawn another day. The third little guy will be enjoyed tonight.
Will be at it again tomorrow. Good luck folks.

Thank you Mr.Sportsman We need more fishermen with this attitude. Will be there this next week to teese my hook.

Get used to it, its like they never leave, you see the same guys in they same boats day after day. Try working to the N. end of the Channel and out near the islands to the S. get away from the boats
cause once a fish is landed its like bees to honey.

We fished fromm 7 till 4 caught 7 fish no females biggest fish 20 inchs real nice eaters.Caught 6 out of the seven handlineing.Lost a few to.Next week should pick up.Tight lines fellas

rcl is in town,150 pros and 150 ams,their prefishing till tues. tourny starts on wed. till saturday,stay clear of erie metro and the stacks till then if your not into crowds,sorry but im one of them.

WHAT SEEMED TOO WORK BEST FOR YOU. AND WHERE. WOULD LIKE TOO GO THERE AND CATCH A BIG ONE FOR PICTURES ONLY. DEPTH ETC. NEVER FISHED THE RIVER THERE BUT WANA GO IN 2 WEEKS ALL THE HELP WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED.

In 2 weeks that whole river will be rocking!!! Ive always told guys who travel long distance's that want to fish the detroit, 2nd or 3rd week of april is best! Stick to the middle section of the river by then(steel plants).

Water temp running between 34.5 and 37.4 Rouge on down, for got the trolling motor!!! Cripe sake realized that 2 miles from the ramp. Did manage 4 weak hits and a scale. A bow mount trolling motor in a light boat is almost worthless for vertical jigging a cross wind. Would of rather danced with the wife instead of a trolling motor.
