Guys-

If you didnt know, there is a 1000 ft no wake limit in the Trenton Channel, as well as most waters from Ecorse on down to the LAke. I copied some of the law here, I tried to link to the Sherrifs page but it just comes up with the home page. If you click on the link at the bottom of this post, then in the search type in "wake" you will get to the pages I am talking about. There are some maps that spell it out clearly.

I know that they will and do enforce this, just so you know.

City of Trenton Speed of Boats Ordinance

On the following waters of the Detroit River, within the corporate limits of the city of Trenton, Wayne County, town 4 south, range 11 east, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed, when within 1000 feet of any shore, dock, or pierhead.
This rule applies only to vessels used for recreational puroposes

Last year in the PWT the pro's ran 50+MPH up and down the trenton channel. At the meeting the US Cost Guard handed out sheets that highlighted the no wake zones. They basically said use commen sense and stay to the middle and they would not go after you. No wake under all bridges and around the Elizabeth launch was strictly enforced though.

Yes, you are correct. With the Grosse Isle getting a shiny new police boat this year, I just didnt want anyone to get into trouble.
