View Full Version : Saturday at Pymy/mosquito
Saturday i didnt do all that great at pymy. This is the first time this spring ive caught walleye up there though. On saturday i caught 2 keeper walleye.. two 16 inchers, 3 perch and 1 bluegill. I had to work for them. I fished from 8-11..Had a few other hits....There was one other boat around me..(within 20 yards) and he ended up catching 3 decent keeper walleye.
A couple of my friends went to mosquito and fished the north end of the lake for crappie. The pounded them. They ended up with 25 crappie they went from 3/4 of a pound up to 1 pound maybe bigger they were really nice ones. Thats where all the action seems to be so far.

Ben,
This would the first trip we ever made to pymatuning,
it's a three hour drive for us.I been watching the posts waiting to
hear some good news that the walleyes are really biting, but its
not sounding to good. If we do come this weekend, I will probably put in at manning and fish the north end first.
thanks for the info.
Ron

Ya the Mos. bite started like a few weeks ago. My buddy went up on saturday and caught a bunch of slab crappie they are still getting a few walleye. I think it will be longer but i dont fish that lake too often. It would probably be better if you asked someone who knew more about it

Sound's like the Walleye are in their pre-spawn gig,and the fishin's never over.Hey RAW21- try the area north of the causeway,on the Ohio side in early May or so for some good Walleye. Also the center of the resev.south of the same causeway has a good stump field to drift fish, also in early season.Later in the year, say July, I catch them down where the reseviour narrow's,straight to the dam area.25-30 ft of water is a good summer locale. In spring the extreme north end of the lake has a good amount of fish,at Clark Is. and near the spillway. Give it a shot, and rev your 18 hp motor -full throtle!!!LOL
