Went out Sunday with two friends did not catch any eyes but we did find the crappie in a bay were the water temp was52 and the depth was only 2 feet and the action was non stop and we only caught about 24 small ones that we released but the rest of them were slabs and we ensed up with 125 and 15 nice yellow perch from 2-6:30 pm so I had my fill of Crappie fishing and now I got to fillet 40 slabs the next trip this week I am going out in the boat looking for the eyes and will stop at nothing untill I find them because time is running out the eyes are late from last year but that dont mean it is going to be a bad year I am just saying that as soon as they start in the shallow water they will do there natural thing.they will come in the shallow and spawn and the shallow fishing thing will be done quick and then the small mouth will be moving in and running every thing out into deeper water.well enjoy your day anglers I got to go fillet Crappie.will post any action on the walleye this week

hello hitman,
was you fishing from shore when you caught crappie this weekend?
or were you out in boat? if so did you find more fish in the south
or north end? we are thinking of coming to the lake for this weekend
just trying to narrow it down, where to start.

Hitman, I'm gonna be up there later today, tues, and wed. I normally would use my boat but forgot to send reg. for my boat in till last week (@#$@#%^) so I'd like to try wading. I've never done it before and I remember seing some posts from you about wading before. where would be a good place to start? I guess people say the best time to go is early morn and late eve! Do you throw Jigs or lures! Should I go north to the spillway or hit manning, orchard, or snodgrass? I know this is alot to ask but thank you very much.

Walleye Chop...I actually think you would be better off going to the spillway and fishing there. Use jigs and minnows or use sonars. For the perch use a small jig and jig it slow. This past weekend i fished there and caught 2 eyes and a few jumbo perch...If you want just find a point and wade off of it in the evening and throw rapalas..

Found the fish in the north check the different bays around stumps friends went out today and they did not get any eyes but they got 87 Slab Crappie fishing Bennits bay 3 foot jigs and minnows with bobber 8 inches above minnow.
----->>>>Wadeing should start we were in 5 foot of water and the water temp was47 and for the other angler that asked about wadeing for the first time cast jigs with twister tails pink/or orange 1/8 oz with chartruse bloodline white 3 inch twister tail. And your best bet should be the spillway because some eyes are being caught.the I am fishing for crappie because they are hot.BUT as soon as the eyes start hitting good then then I will be all over those eyes.Well anglers good luck and good fishing.

The #@$%$#$ registration sneaked up on me too. Trailer was no problem, did that online. It would be nice to register the boat online too.
