Hello, it is Thursday morning here at Lake Erie and it a cool but beautiful day. Air temperature is in the 40’s. Sun is shining, and no wind. Friday & Saturday, will be about the same with a northwest wind at 5 to 15 mph. The water temperature in the lake will probably average around 36 degrees, and Sandusky Bay is about 44 degrees. The fishermen that are fishing are catching Walleyes and Perch. Two different boats of two have caught nice perch already over east of Kelleys Island. The walleyes have been caught both trolling and jigging. The catch hasn’t been too bad considering how cold the water is. I have heard of several limits. Some of them were big fish. The trollers were working north of Kelleys and out in the open water between Mouse Island and Niagara Reef. Most of the trollers are using Reef Runners Deep , and Deep Little Rippers, also a few Deep Smithwicks. The jig fishermen are using the Vibe Lure & 5/8 oz. jig heads with a chartreuse twister tail on the reefs, and the Vibe Jigging Spoon in Sandusky Bay. The forecasters say scattered showers Sunday, and rain Monday with a little warmer temperatures. Good Fishing, & good luck.
