Heading to Chamberlain this weekend and I know the fishing has been good there, but i just heard from a not so great source that the fish have shut down since the cool weather reappeared. Anyone been there lately and have a report? Thanks in advance.

I was out there last saturday and monday and found the fishing to be pretty tough. Caught some fish but very few above 15 inches which is the legal size to keep out there. Talked to many other boats with the same story as me.

They shut the water off during the weekends. Why, I don't know, but it does tend to shut the fishing down. Look for any current.
Report off the KTWB website that was updated on Tuesday stated it has been tougher since the weather changed.
Had a friend of mine that was out there last Saturday. For an hour in the morning, he caught fish, all under 15". Then they shut down.
Sounds like it's going to be windy tomorrow with 20-30 MPH winds, so maybe that will get them going again!
Good Luck!

We had 4 boats out there on Thursday and Friday on this last week. We boated over 400+ walleyes. Easy limits up buy the dam and big fish by the drege hole in town. Not everyone one was getting fish. We caught fish up by the dam from 13 to 17 feet. In town from 27-50 ft.

Fished crow creek on Friday and did real well, we caught our limit. Saturday was a different story, the wind came up and we didn't feel like boating up to crow creek, so we stayed and fished the dredge hole, only managed two fish.

Jig Master, How deep did you find them at crow creek. Was the water still real clear, and low? Heading out Thursday, weather providing. Will return the favor when I get back. Anyone else have a report from last weekend?

Well, we went to chaimberlain on Sunday and boy it was a tuff day of fishing. We tried the Kiowa Flats, Pump House, the Cosway (dredge hole) and ended up with 5 decent fish to take home for the 3 of us. We ended up finding them in 11ft of water(the nicer ones), but the bite was very slow, only about 15 fish for the day. Had a great time and it was nice to be back on the water. If any of you were out there, can you believe the # of boats out there, wow!! Let me know how you guys did this weekend.

We fished the Kiowa Flats on Sunday also. But I stayed in the channel in about 24-30 ft of water and caught 14 fish, 2 guys. But we moved really slow and fished straight down. SLOW is the key, jig and minnows. 10 of the fish were 16-19 inches, and the other 4 were 14-15. We only kept only 5 of the smaller males and let the bigger ones go. I seen a thousand boats, but I think everyone was moving way to fast to catch those lite biting fish.
All I can say is WOW!!! that was some wind on Saturday and would'nt you know my electric had a wire corrode since I last checked it. So I had to drift flats with only my sea bag to slow me down. Did catch a 15 1/2" keeper and one nice fat 5lb full of eggs but she went back. Both fish were caught directly accross to the west of american creek bay. Sure wish I would have been able to work those mudlines on the wind blown shore with my electric. maybe next time:)
