Without putting a tape measure on her, I'd guess she was about 29 inches long. Probably weighs 10 to 10.5 lbs. (Which is what I think you really wanted to know) Nice fish!! Where,What,How? We'd all like to know!
It`s too big to eat. You should have taken a picture and released her. Since you didn`t I would have it mounted. Nice fish, congrats.

Dan,
I caught a 29" walleye on the Fox River on 3/31. She was so close, we called her 12lbs. This was an extremely heavy fish full of eggs. I had to fight the urge to let her go, but she's going on my wall. Good fish, but it sounds like you don't have much choice but to put her on the wall.

Way to go on your trophies guys. Nice fish. But have you ever considered a replica mount? They are a little more expensive, but last longer, never get that old mounted fish look, the newer replicas are almost better looking than real fish mounts and the best part is- you don't have to fight the urge to let her go. It is these big fish in the resource that have the right genetic make up to produce many more fish that can grow as large. That is, unless it is on your wall. Don't get me wrong, kepping a fish of a lifetime will probably not hurt the fishery, but every one doing this on a popular big fish destination will.
Go guilt free, let the big fish go and get a replica mount. Have your cake and eat it too;-)
