What makes an angler choose a Colorado spinner blade over an Indiana spinner blade when running spinner rigs? Also how do you determine which size is the best for the type of fishing you plan to do. Do these factors really help you catch fish? Thanks

Hi MWS
A general rule I use when picking spinner blades is this.

The higher you fish in the water column, the larger the blade.
The closer to the bottom your fishing, the smaller the blade.

Color theory is the clearer the water, stick to silver, gold and brass blades. Off color water start using chartreuse, orange and other bright blades.

I like to use colorado blades in darker water because they have a more pronounced thump. Indiana blades work great most of the time.

And like any other rules in fishing, if they ain’t biting the rules go out the window. :-) Start experimenting on your own.

Good fishing

A relative new comer to the spinner game is the Mack's Lure's smiley blades. Unique due to there light weight easy spin design with the capacity to be altered to adjust for speed conditions and fish aggression levels. A very cool blade if for only one reason, they float!

From ultra slow drift fishing to hall ##### basin coverage pass's these blades can do more than any other style. Reflective prism colors are real eye catchers. Due to there light weight design that are not big thump-thump producers like a colorado blade.

All reports make them a big bait for stacking for salmon, trout, musky, pike and walleye on riggers. Thay make a great line of spinners pre-rigged and keel systems for trout that I find big pike love.

Once in a while a lure shows up that is a new class in itself, this is one in my opinion.

Check them out, see what ya think?
