I've used it in 50-pound test for sturgeon. I have to say I didn't like it for that application; I broke off a few because it wasn't very forgiving. I had better success with 30 lb mono than 50 lb Spectra. Now I've spooled mono over the top of the TUF and it's a lot better combo.

I wanted to know the line itself. I do know the no stretch characteristics. Presently I use Fireline & really like it. Tuff line Plus is about $40 less & I should have asked if it is comparable to Fireline ( microdynema).

Driftr, the tuff line is strong, but is between flat and oval in diameter. the power pro is more of a round line and in turn goes on the reels better. if you have any questions just e-mail me , or call me at the store and i will try to answer you. Power Pro is also less money than the other line. i use the power pro for most fishing that i do. like tuff line it does have NO STRETCH. good luck and good fishin.

TUF-PLUS is a lot like original spiderwire, not much like fireline. i.e. it's a braid, not a fused line. It lays kind of flat and therefore it's a little hard to handle and tie knots in. Fireline is easier to handle.

I love it. I am also used to Fireline. In comparison to 14/6 Fireline, Tuf runs deeper and it's a lot more abrasion resistant. I ran a couple rods with it last year next to Fireline and this year they will all be 15# Tuf.
I don't think we're talking the same line Den. Tuf goes on your reel just fine. You have to spool it tight so it doesn't dig in, but that's true of any super braid.

I got the Tuff-Line Plus. I went for the plus due color (grey). Also 30# test for pulling large dipseys. The diameter on this is .09 , I'm thinking this will run similar to 10# mono. maybe a tad deeper.
