Hit the river at Wyandotte this morning before leaving town and got skunked. Didn't see a single net the couple hours I was out there. Water clarity was about 6 inches.

Enjoy the weather up there. It's in the 90s and humid here in Austin.

Help!! WE were planning on coming over on Wens. morning and fishing the stacks and Wyandot. Will the river be fishable by then? I dont mind the weather if the fish are going. Thanks! River Rats Rock!!

My general rule is that it takes two days of mild weather to clear the river for every one day of rain/wind that muddies it. You might be OK by Wednesday, though it rained hard Sunday and high winds are forecasted for today. Good luck - let us know how you did. Don't be afraid to run the length of the river looking for clean water - the entire system is holding fish right now.

Don't worry about dirty water.Fish still bite. The big deal is weather the fish are in a biting mood.I was out Saturday & not a thing.Trenton channel to the Canadian side I saw only a few boated.I think this up & down weather shuts them down big time.If you keep looking there is a spot or 2 that still produces. The river is a big place.

It is Tuesday. The water is is still very dirty, less that 6" visibility. Things most likely won't be much better on Wednesday. contrary to to the last post, water clarity does matter. Fishing will probably be slow at best.

The first day of the RCL had clarity at about 6 inches. We still boated 9 fish. It was probably the first time I ever fished hard in dirty water. If I was not in the tourny I would have went home after an hour probably. Instead I learned that you can catch walleyes when it is dirty.

Dirty or clear the fish are there. What are you going to do stay home.I make rattle jigs with a PVC rattle that is super loud. That helps, also you might add a lot of scents to your bait & definetly add a minnow.I know a lot of guys now don't use live bait but in bad conditions every bit helps. When I get the fever rain, snow clear water or dirty who cares just go.

If fishing was always easy we would call it catching! The fish are there and we manage to catch fish during our charters you just have to work alittle harder. Target wind blown flats in water as shallow as 12 ft they will be there feeding! As the water begins to clear the action will pick-up but you wont know this from your house!
Good luck to everybody and dont be afraid to work alittle they dont just jump in the boat, with this wind and weather we have to adapt.
