I have been reading the "somethings wrong" post, I just wanted to add my thoughts, this lake is awesome, a huge lake, with tons of eyes, I have never smelled sewage or tasted soap, I remember a few years back the mosquito walleye had white warts, it was blamed on some alge problen due to late ice out, Pymatuning's eye population is incredible , I have no hard feelings on keeping 6 or 12 eyes each time out, Why catch and release a 15 inch walleye when millions more will be dumped in the lake next year, Im not poor or starving, I just like fresh fish, as far as the fishing being bad that's a joke , the fishing is no diffrent than any other year, sometimes you find them sometimes you dont, , sometimes they bite heavy sometimes not, you can not blame 1 or 2 bad fishing trips on the lakes fishing quality, I have no problem finding the walleye 12 months a year and I rarely leave the north end, I learned to do this by "not catching fish" so I went looking for them, and in the process I learned the lake, I love the south end equally , but I got a system I use on the north end and it has NEVER let me down , I try 5 or 6 diffrent spots at varying depths, with a rig as simple as a "gold aberdeen hook" (bendable) and a split shot, the smallest shot the wind will allow, and until late june early july...MINNOWS .by trying my 5 or 6 spots, I can usually locate the eye's in less than an hour, and taking the limit 99% of the time is no B.S. I would say there is nothing wrong with the lake, just the way some fisherman utilize their time on the lake, if anyone wants some simple tips I use on the north end I would be glad to share ....P.S. please spare me any corrections to my spelling or grammer, I already know Im an idiot

Lol i for one dont have any room to talk on grammer or spelling, and i defintaly agree that in order to learn how to catch fish you have to sometimes catch none at all, or do what i did Saturday move and Try some new things!!
So far saturday has been our best day on pymatuning. My dad and I fished the south end near stockers and pulled 11 keeper walleye (just couldnt move that last 12th fish)
The trip before we caught only 2 keeper walleye and the one before that being our 1st venture to pymi this year we got skunked...LoL so i must be doing something right...Ill be up this saturday too...Tom are you goin to Join me this week? Email me and ill hook you up on what i was catching the Eyes on JLRhino911@aol.com

I've been fishin' this lake since I was knee high to a grasshoper.Last week end, myself and 50-60 friend's from work fished together, and did have a dismal day.Fishing with a group like this is fun,and that's what it's mostly about.Boat control is not an easy thing on a pontoon. We drifted around, and caught a few,and 3 fish won the prize.I gave my fish to another guy,as I have some in the freezer, and he said they tasted great.I think guy's do what they did last year,on this same spot, with the same tactic, and if they're not killin' them, the lake is the problem.Hmmm, there is alway's the other guy's catching fish. Why can't we?Change is tuff for some.Yeah,it's a great lake.

Hi all-
I've been fishing this lake since I was about 5 yrs old. Grandparents used to live there in Jamestown PA....anyway.....
Although I know the North end very well by boat, I have missed the last 3 weeks of prime drift sock fishing and jigging due to a failed truck tranny(whole 'nother story..) I'm hoping to be able to hit Pymy through May consistently and I was wondering where the southern end post-spawn bite was going on. I have heard good reports from around stockers island and off snodgrass? I don't need a specific spot but a depth would help me ..do they go back deeper now or are they still shallow ?
I am either gonna start running a leadcore trolling setup or try the 3-way swivel with a bell weight to keep the totty down in 15-18ft.....
I have heard guys reporting some nice 20-24'' eyes trolling already...
oh yeah, I heard some catches reported off of the Duck&Drake also.
North end gets crowded sometimes but those sand bars really produce drifting during april...the stumps off by the west side of the North end are good but whew...you really shell out $$ for the cranks to run there I tell ya.....fun nonetheless though...

Hey guys, I've been going to Pymie ever since I was a kid but we've always launched at the causeway, Manning or Snodgrass. I've never check out the Ohio side of the lake. Where exactly is the Duck & Drake?
Last year I fished the Walleye Round Up with my brother. We even led for a while (we were the first to weigh in, lol). I'm gonna try to get up there soon so keep the good reports coming.
Thanks.

Can't help with the Duck and Drake, but that southern end has 'em in 20+ ft deep now. They do go deeper, after the spawn.Look around Stocker, and head toward the dam.Troll the deepest water, with Fireline, getting to the 20' range.Wally Diver's and Shad Rap's.Amen.
duck and drake is on the ohio side about 1/2 way between on the south end, if you come across the c-way from P.A. at the light you go left, stay on that road i think the roads name is west lake rd, so anyways stay on that road and the d -n- d is on the right a few miles down the road the name is big enough to see.

tangled angler, to get to duck and drake, go across the causeway to the light. make a left and head south about 3 or 4 miles. you will go around two bends in the road. duck and drake will be on your right just at the second bend. you will be right across the road from the boat ramp and lake.
