Last year, on April 1st., my best friend and long time fishing partner, along with his father died on the Wisconsin river in a freak boating accident. Mike was only 48 yars old, his father, Dudley was in his seventies. I did not fish last year after that incident. The bodies did not come up for about a month. I am looking to start over this year, but I need some new fishing friends. I enjoy fishing castle rock. I live on the southern edge of Madison. I enjoy small tournaments. I have a nice fishing boat and truck to pull it. I would enjoy learning about the Mississippi river system. I am a 40 year old project manager for a construction company in madison. Married with two sons who go with me when they decide to. If you are looking to fish some tournaments or just get out fishing, give me a call. If you know of anyone who doesn't have their own boat who would like to get out, let me know. I HAVE to get back out this year, I really need to start the next chapter in my life. This was and still is a very consuming thing has happened, loosing two friends that way. Thanks for taking the time to read this, Jim Campbell, also known as the "Walleye Bucket"

Jim,
Please bring yourself, your sons and the mindset to refresh yourself and join me on the Wolf River this spring for some night fishing. We will catch some Walleye and trade stories. In return you can show me Castle Rock some time. Email me for setting specifics.

Doc, you have no idea how this makes me feel. This is one of the hardest things i have ever had to go through. You let me know as soon as we can get on the water and I am there! God bless you.

Congratulations on moving on, not forgetting, but continuing. When I was younger, I was introduced to the best fishing partner ever. The day we met, he was diagnosed with cancer. We had a couple years of good times, but it all had to end. I still think of him every time I go hunting or fishing. I know he would want me to go, heck he is with me anyway.

Jim,
Hello. My name is Steve Small. I live in Oregon, Wi which sounds like it's fairly close to where you are. I am also very sorry to hear about your loss. I remember hearing about the tragedy when it first occured. I am a professional walleye angler (fish MWC and USFA for many years). I fish approximately one-hundred days a year and spend many summer nights after work chasing muskies on Monona and Waubesa. In the spring, you can find me below the dam at Sauk casting cranks or jigging from both boat and shore. I love LMB fishing, and travel up to Lake Wisconsin at least one night a week to fish the slop. I am an Environmental Scientist with an engineering firm in Madison and am "into" all aspects of fishing and hunting. I am always looking to meet new people to fish with and am always looking to make new friends. I would be honored to get together sometime and get after 'em. Please let me know what your favorite species is and how you like to chase them and we'll make arrangements. I have my own boat, but if your more comfortable fishing out of yours, that can be arranged. Well Jim, if you are interested, please let me know. I can be reached at 608/835-0690. Good luck to you and hope to hear from you soon.

Steve-

p.s. - If you do agree to fish together, you must agree on one thing...to have fun!

I WAS VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF THE TRAGEDY THAT YOU HAVE MET WITH. I LIVE IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF WISC., AND FISH THE LAKES AROUND HERE. IF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WANT TO TRAVEL SOUTH WITH YOUR BOAT, I CAN ALMOST GUARANTEE YOU A MOST ENJOYABLE TIME. I MAINLY FISH FOR WALLEYES BUT I AM NOT AGAINST TAKING OTHER SPECIES.

That sure was a trajedy.I was out on the lake the next day with my son and really felt for the families of the two men.I fish the river alot and am amazed at the number of people who drowned every year out there. I can think of a couple of incidents that I was lucky to come out alive. I iive in Poynette and fish all I can. I have an 8 year old son who is with me alot. I have been looking for a tournament partner to fish the WWA circuit this year if your interested email me at mandbbull@cs.com or call, I'm in the book. Tight Lines Ben

Jim,

I know where you're coming from. My dad was diagnosed with cancer last Memorial Day weekend. He checked into heaven on October 21st. I didn't fish last year either between wanting to spend as much time as I could with him and simply not having the drive to do much of anything. It's coming back now, but I still have to talk myself into enjoying life. I'll be hitting the tournament circuit (USFA) this year. I live on the Mississippi and you're welcome to come up to Trempealeau to fish any time. My e-mail is five_eyes@msn.com.

If this is the Jim I'm thinking of, we (Perry and I) used to see you a lot over at Castle Rock. We wondered why we didn't see Big Jim last year, but we hardly fished. You actually taught us a lot if this is you. Let me know if this is the guy with the Lund and two Merc's with the place at the campground. Once again, hang in there. They're still with us when we want them to be.

Jim,
Sorry to hear about your partner. Four years ago I lost my partner too. He was my partner on the job as a policeman as well. We did everything together and fished about 60 days a year. I haven't found anyone like him yet, but I have continued to fish. Good luck to you.

hey Matt and Perry, yes its me! Your assumption of why you did not see me last year is correct. We even sold our place on castle rock. It is really great to hear you guys are still around. I really need to get back into things this year. I now have a black 1775 pro v, still with two Mercs on it. Call me.608-835-9309, See ya, Jim.
