I just wanted to say that I had a great time this past weekend at the Walleye Central on Ice. Bob and I want to send a special thanks to TBO for setting it all up and bringing the food and drink.
I am grateful that I got the chance to meet and talk to a great bunch of guys. I hope this is something that we can do every year. (we just won't sit in the parking lot for so long next year, right Dave? wink, wink)
Now that there is a face to go with the name, maybe I'll see ya on the water.
Once more, thanks TBO. It was great. I have to go now...and get my hat back from Bob.

Thanks goes out to all that attended, and of course to Carol Nelson at W/C for the box of goodies that got passed out. I honestly want to say that I enjoyed every minute of the weekend. Although only one walleye and a few nice perch were caught, the friendships that were made, and the new people that I met will always out weigh the fish that woulda/shoulda/coulda been caught.
With only a couple slip-ups, Eddy's provided great accommodations and food...so thanks to Dave and Arlene Bentley at Eddy's for a great weekend.

I was so happy to see a couple of the guys bring their kids, and hopefully they enjoyed it as well as the adults, I know my 5 year old grandson didn't want to leave at the end of the day, too much fun catching those perch and drinking out of those juice boxes.

I did get a picture of Dave's(Dave in MPLS) 17 inch walleye, and a few others so I will be sending them in to Scott to put on the get-together page.

I hope to be putting together a gathering on LOTW for late summer or early fall this year, so keep an open mind and an eye on the board for some announcements this summer.

P.S. Hey Lisa, did you and Bob win that new truck????

It's the craziest thing TBO, I had the winning fish but I didn't like the color of the truck so I let it go........lol.
I didn't catch a thing. Maybe next time.

Indeed - Thanks again, TBO!

I think a great time was had by all, despite a few glitches in the works! I can't speak for you and Bob, Lisa, but Gary and I kinda enjoyed our time in the parking lot! I must say I was a little surprised to see your hat on Bob's mellon, though, at the end of the day!

The only downside to the weekend for me was when we were loading up on Sunday and I was walking backward looking forward. Took one too many steps and ended up stepping into a hole up to my knee....dang 10" augers, anyway!!

Nice to put some faces with names and share some company for an evening.

Thanks

P.S.

Regarding the one walleye that was caught....remember....even a blind pig can find an accorn in a haystack some days!!

Who do I send my digital pics to?

I second the thanks to TBO for the great time me and my sons had on Mille Lacs. Eddy's is a real nice motel and putting the names to faces was real nice. Thanks once again and hope to see you all at other MN get togethers. Stopped by the WC booth sunday afternoon and met Carol but Scott must have been Wandering so I'll catch you next time. Smiley was it the wrong color or brand of truck that made you turn the winning fish loose LOL.

Dang...sounds like you all had a great time. I wish I had been there. However, I did get to put a few faces to names on Friday night at the Walleye Expo. It was a pleasure meeting Carol from WC. I got my long sleeve "T" :-)

Dave, you're one of those guys that needs to wear snow shoes on the ice. Long story I will share with you this spring sometime. LOL BTW conrates on the big 'eye, bud!

For those that asked me for an update on the wrestling gig, Jake won his match this weekend and afterward we watched as NDSU (#2) thrumped the U of M Mankato Mavericks. All these highschoolers were in awe as the "big" guys did moves they'd never seen before. My only regret is that we did not attend more college meets while these guys were getting into wrestling.

Anyway, looking forward to the next MN Walleye Central get-together.

I hear the ice is melting somewhere <grin>

Brian,

Send those pictures to Scott, and I will do the same. He will put them together for the "get-togethers" page on the homepage.

Glad you guys had fun, we WILL be doing this again.

Hey Ness,

I just sent a bunch of pictures and some lowdown on the event to Scott. Should be up in a couple of days. Check the "updates" link on the mainpage in a couple of days. There were 14 of us, ranging in age from 5 to 54(that was me)and all had a great time. I know the 5 year old didn't want to quit at the end of the day, he was having to much fun catching perch.

It HAD to be the color, I already have a white Ford. I suppose I could have gave it to Bob but he DID take my hat...lol

Hey Dave, bummer about stepping in the hole. Good thing you didn't break your leg. By the way...I did get my hat back. I wore it on Sunday..I was hoping it would bring me some luck. It didn't. I think it still had Bob germs on it. It was a good time though. I just couldn't catch a fish to save my life.
Take care,
Lisa
