Family is planning a trip to Boysen res July 2-6---Was wondering what type of bite to expect-(never been there)Typically is it a trolling bite or a live bait bite??? What depth should you target taht time of year??? Also any bait shops ect in that area would be helpful---Thanks

Stopped by there on the way home from Yellowstone today and talked to a ranger. She said the bite has been pretty good this spring but the bad news is the water level is really low, all ramps are out of the water. They have been putting in at Tamarask campground on some hard ground though. At the beginning of July you should do well with bouncers and crawlers or cranks. As it gets hotter, cranks pulled faster usually works better. Also, with the low water there are a LOT of hazards, so be careful.
